Proserpine Flights Guide

Proserpine, AustraliaAustralia's Proserpine is in the state of Queensland. It sits in the Far North Region. It was named after the Greek Goddess of Fertility, Persephone. Unsurprisingly, the area is home to rich, fertile landscapes, and agriculture is a major activity in surrounding areas. It is starting to draw more and more tourists to the area, and is able to offer modern services and facilities.

To see how the town looked in the past, take a stroll along the quaint and well preserved Main Street. The majority of the shops are housed within original art deco buildings, and it is a very pretty part of the town. The Proserpine Museum offers intelligent and interesting insights into the local community's history. Other places of interest in and around the town include the Crocodile Safari and the lovely Cedar Creek Falls. Airlie Beach is situated some 26 kilometres from the town.

Proserpine's most important role, however, is the administration of the Whitsunday Area. It also provides the infrastructure backbone.

Proserpine Airport has flights to and from Brisbane. There are plans for expansion and services to a wider range of destinations. It is also referred to as the Whitsunday Coast Airport. There are rail services that connect Proserpine with Brisbane and Cairns, and buses run to Airlie Beach. There are several taxis in town, though you may need to wait for some time before one arrives.
