Can you say amore - can you sing amore - when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie that's amore ... when you land in Italy that's going to be amore too.
Italy is an ode to beauty. Visiting this little country will make you feel as though you've landed in a fairytale.
Sculptures dot streets, parks and provide the first of welcome to numerous buildings. This tiny country packs a punch for the vacationing dollar. You can easily travel by car from one city to the next and each city will reveal to you a different personality that will make your trip to one country feel as though you've done a jaunt through at least a couple more.
Rome is a living museum and in turn one of the most popular cities to visit in the country. You will be awestruck upon entrance into the Colosseum, it still vibrates a certain energy that somehow reminisces of its glory days, of gladiators and beauties, of crowds and chaos. Even the moss you found growing throughout the space sparkles with a green vivacity that will have you taking a second look. There are numerous other structures that you will want to see in Rome from the Pantheon to St.Peter's Basilica and more.
Next it's time to take to the canals of Venice. These canals with their mustachioed gondola operators have become cliche, but it is impossible to go to the city without being a part of this scene that has been played time and time again in movies, books and imaginations around the world. The city has lovely little markets and winding pathways you can lose yourself in and a lovely evening dinner by candlelight is a Venice must-do.
Now, let's get high-falutin' and head to Italy's fashion capital, Milan. Here you can shop Armani, Gucci and the like. Follow your high-end shopping with some high-end noshing since the restaurants in this city have to keep par with the high-end lifestyles of its residents and visitors. One of the great traditions you can partake in is the after-work cocktail hour. Sure, this happens everywhere around the world. But I surely would bet a pretty penny it doesn't happen the way it does in Italy.
As you mingle about among other people's co-workers you will note a lovely section of delicious appetizers that are complimentary to your drinks - naturally, what would a glass of wine be without some delicous cheese and other hand-sized delights. As you practice your Italian and mingle with the locals, you might begin to understand that after-work drinks in Italy is really more of a high-falutin' affair - of the need-to-do-again-tomorrow-night kind.
Whether it is 'after-work'' drinks, grabbing a delicious slice of fresh pizza and sitting out in one of the country's parks somewhere or exploring ornate Gothic buildings and ancient ruins, Italy is just travel amore waiting to happen. Bellissimo!
