Cambodia Flights Guide

Tourists have been thronging temples of Angkor in Cambodia ever since Angelina Jolie explored them as Lara Croft. Cambodia is definitely an alluring and charming country and a rewarding and refreshing place for the tourists.

From the natural splendor of one of the biggest fresh water lakes in the world, the Tonle Sap Lake, to fascinating Bamboo Island, Cambodia is a hybrid blend of natural and manmade beauty and catches the attraction of tourists from across the globe.

The climate of the country is generally tropical with the average day temperature of 270 C. The days in summer are typically hot and humid as the country is affected by the monsoons. The country experiences two distinct seasons that are the dry season and the rainy season. The dry season is further divided into two mini seasons, the cold dry season and the hot dry season that last from November till February and March till May respectively. You should try to visit Cambodia from October to March because these months are relatively less hot with moderate temperatures.

Phnom Penh is the capital and largest city of the country and is truly becoming a most desired tourist destination in Southeast Asia. One of the most amazing places to visit in the city are the beautiful art deco buildings of the Central Market that date back to 1937. The central dome and four wings incorporate thousands of shops selling stuff like jewelry, books, clothing, souvenirs and shoes etc.

The royal palace lying on the river bank is a grand building featuring traditional curved spires and stupas, the characteristics of classic Khmer architecture. The national Museum is also nearby that is another popular place among the visitors. The city is actually located on the both sides of Tonle Sap river and the Riverside overlooking the river is one of the main attractions of the city. The area provides a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy the river after a hard day of sightseeing.

Koh Kong city, the capital of Koh Kong Province is all about pristine beaches and wonderful natural resorts. It is not a big city buy a well-built small town providing all the facilities such as an international airport and five star hotels that any tourist want. The city itself has nothing much to offer but long unspoiled and spectacular beaches, dense rainforests, abundant wildlife, big waterfalls and casinos especially on the border with Thailand are some of the attractions that you cannot miss. Similarly, wonderful natural resorts like Cham Yeam, Chai Phat, Kbal Chhay Waterfall add to the appeal and charm of the area that was once dominated by the prostitution, gambling and smuggling.

Takeo province is the cradle of Cambodian civilization and its capital, the Tako city is yet another amazing place to visit as it possesses a fair amount of manmade and natural beauty. A series of waterways and canals dug through the fascinating countryside that surrounds the city contribute towards the man made beauty . On the other hand, the lake area and the scenic river facing the pleasant town parkway account for the natural beauty of the city. Nearby is the Angkor Borei town where that famous temples of Angkor are located. It is the area of several other archeological and historic sites and contains artifacts dating from the late Angkorian period as well as from the Water Chenla (8th century) and the Funan (4th/5th century) eras.

Cambodia is a mystically beautiful country and it is impossible for anyone to resists its appeal and charm. Compared to other popular countries in the area, Cambodia is cheaper and less messier making it a perfect tourist destination for everyone.
