SAS Scandinavian Airlines is the largest airline in Scandinavia and the national airline carrier of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. They were originally founded in 1946 when the three countries created a partnership group in order to handle the air traffic between the three of them. The partnership gained popularity throughout the years as they started acquiring smaller local airlines and later in 1997 formed the global Star Alliance along with four other founding airlines. Aside from the agreements with its Star Alliance partners, SAS has codeshare agreements with 10 other airlines. Known as the 9th largest airline in Europe, SAS Scandinavian Airlines carried almost 26 million passengers in 2012.
Currently SAS has its headquarters in Sigtuna Sweden. It services at total of six hubs, three of which are their main hubs located at Copenhagen-Kastrup Airpoet, Oslo=Gardermoen Airport and Stockholm-Arlanda Airport.
SAS Scandinavian Airlines’ current fleet size includes 128 passenger aircraft carriers, most of which include Boeing 737-600, Boeing 737-700 and Boeing 737-800. In addition they have future plans to purchase 50 new narrow body aircraft. Thirty of the new aircraft will include the next generation Airbus 320neo (new engine option).

SAS Scandinavian Airlines has announced 43 new routes in 2014. They fly to more than 90 destinations, including more Scandinavian destination from all over Europe than any other airline. Through their global network of airline partners, their routes also include Asia and the United States.

EuroBonus is the frequent flyer and loyalty program of SAS Scandinavian Airlines where you can accumulate points quickly on flights, hotel stays and also everyday purchases. And the more you fly, the more benefits you gain. Points can also be redeemed on SAS flights or many of their partners. There are three classes of membership based on the amount of points earned, Basic, Silver and Gold. Gold members have full access to lounges and earn an additional 25 % Basic points on top of the regular points on all SAS flights, along with many other member benefits.

On Board SAS Scandinavian Airlines
SAS has eliminated the Business Class on their intra-European flights. There are two classes of service and seating offered on international and intra-European flights, the SAS Go which is the basic economy and the SAS Plus which is the premium economy. The SAS Plus is located more toward the front of the aircraft and offers wider seats and more comfort than the SAS Go seating. Included is an adjustable fold out table to use for your meal or laptop. An in seat power outlet is available for your laptop or other electronic devices. The SAS Plus seat offers a generous recline along with an adjustable head rest and includes a foot rest. You will receive a complementary meal and if you depart before 9 am, breakfast will be served. In addition you can enjoy refreshments, coffee, tea or alcohol. In-flight entertainment is provide on your flat screen monitor.
The SAS Go is your basic economy class seating that has a slight recline and an adjustable head rest. The seats are standard width of 19-inches. You can purchase food, drinks, alcohol or snacks from the café on board, however, coffee and tea are complementary. In-flight entertainment is also provided on the flat screen monitor in front of you.
SAS Scandinavian Business Class
SAS Business Class is only offered on international flights. Everything you need is in one place for your full convenience and comfort. Seats are 20-inches wide and recline to a bed position. The seat pitch is a full 79 inches to allow for plenty of leg room and stretching. A large table is included to use for your laptop or dining needs. The in-seat pc power source lets you keep your computer and other electronics charged. For your in-flight entertainment, enjoy movies, music, audio books and podcasts on a large flat screen monitor at your seat. Dining includes a 3 course meal, champagne, snacks, beverages, wines and soft drinks. There is also an on board buffet available throughout your flight with fruits, snacks and drinks.
SAS Scandinavian Lounges
Access to the lounges would depend on your flight class, frequent flyer member status as well as your destination. Passengers that travel in First Class on the Star Alliance network of airlines are allowed access to the SAS lounges. SAS services a total of nine lounges, five lounges throughout Scandinavia, two in Europe and two in the United States. SAS Scandinavian Euro Bonus Gold Members of the frequent flyer program have access to these lounges.
