Regional Express, also known as Rex, is a regional airline that was established in 2002. They are Australia’s largest regional airline. They operate all of their regional flights out of Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Townsville Airports. The airline is proud of being recognized as Regional Airline of The Year including Top Performing Airline year after year. Their total fleet size consist of 48 aircraft and all are the Saab 340 turboprop which seat from 33 to 36 passengers on board. Destinations on the network worth a visit include Byron Bay, Coober Pedy, Mt. Gambier, Broken Hill, Mildura and Wagga Wagga.

On Board Regional Express
As all of the aircraft are small, the seating on board is relatively standard and identical, however the airline offers a few seats with extra leg room and they are called Rextra. They can be reserved and purchased for an extra fee. The Rextra seats have a seat pitch of 32 inches.
Regional Express Lounges
Rex Express operates lounges at the Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide airports. Access is available to those who pay a yearly membership fee. Members are given a 4 digit access code to enter and can relax, and unwind before their flight. For those that do not travel often, passengers may purchase a casual access for the day. Lounges offer a variety of snacks and drinks throughout the day. The Rex Lounge also features workstations with PC’s and internet access.

The airline offers you the ability to book your flights, hotels and car rental, all on their website at www.rex.com.au. The interactive map on the site allows you to click on any of the four airports and view the destinations from the specific airport including the fares.
RexFlyer Frequent Flyer Programme
RexFlyer is the loyalty programme operated by Rex Airlines. It enables frequent flyers to earn a free flight for every nine flights that they take across the Rex network. A membership fee of $27.50 is payable annually. Members are required to pay taxes and any additional charges on reward flights. Seats are available to be booked as reward seats, as long as the flight is not fully booked.
