Rex was formed in 2002 from the merger of Hazelton and Kendell Airlines. It is an airline servicing country areas and its tagline states that “Our Heart is in the Country”. In April 2005, the airline was voted as giving the best customer satisfaction in a survey conducted in Choice magazine. Destinations include Albury, Lismore, Kangaroo Island, Grafton and Dubbo.
Destinations on the network worth a visit include Byron Bay, Coober Pedy, Mt. Gambier, Broken Hill, Mildura and Wagga Wagga.
Rex Inflight Service – Cheap FlightsA baggage allowance of 15kg applies to all passengers, except infants who have a baggage allowance of 10kg.
Rex LoungeRex lounges are located in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Workstations are available, along with tea, coffee and snacks and wine after 3pm. Membership is $299 per annum. Members may bring guests with them into the lounge, upon purchase of a guest pass costing $20 per person, valid for a single visit.
RexFlyer Frequent Flyer ProgrammeRexFlyer is the loyalty programme operated by Rex Airlines. It enables frequent flyers to earn a free flight for every nine flights that they take across the Rex network. A membership fee of $27.50 is payable annually. Members are required to pay taxes and any additional charges on reward flights. Seats are available to be booked as reward seats, as long as the flight is not fully booked.
