Founded in 1993, Norwegian Air Shuttle operates hubs in eleven locations with two new bases planned for opening in 2014. Its largest base is located at Oslo Airport in Gardermoen, Norway. Their most recent base was opened 2012 in London in order to offer flights to Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and Croatia. They are the second largest airline in Scandinavia, the third largest low-cost airline in Europe, and the ninth largest airline in Europe in regards to number of passengers served.
Norwegian Air Shuttle operates 86 aircraft which include 73 Boeing 737-800ís and 10 Boeing 737-300ís. They recently added three Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners for their newer long haul routes. However in 2012, they placed the largest order for new aircraft in European history, ordering 100 new Boeing 737-Max 8ís, and 100 Airbus 320neoís, along with 22 more Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The airline operates 382 routes to 121 destinations in 32 countries on four continents and serves Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. They have a huge volume of domestic flights within Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Recently they have added long haul international flights to New York City, Bangkok, For Lauderdale, Los Angeles, and Orlando, Florida.

On Board Norwegian Air Shuttle
Economy is the only class seating offered on all short haul Norwegian Air Shuttle flights. The economy seating is a 3-3 configuration with a seat width of 17.2 inches and a 29 inch pitch between them. Food and drinks are available for purchase on board. Currently, free Wi-Fi is offered on all of their aircraft. In-flight entertainment includes ten channels of in seat music and a movie on a shared cabin screen on flights longer than 3.5 hours.
Norwegian Air Shuttle Business Class
Norwegian Air Shuttles business class is offered on its long haul flights and is called the Premium Class. They are very similar to the premium economy on other airlines with a seat pitch of 31 inches and about three more inches of leg room. Seats do however offer power supply for laptops and USB ports. Premium Class passengers do not have to pay for the extras that the Economy Class passengers pay for.

As a low cost carrier, Norwegian Air Shuttle does not currently offer lounge services, however they do have a frequent flyer program called Norwegian Reward in which membership is free and passengers earn Cash Points that can be redeemed against other flights from Norwegian Air Shuttle.
Booking Your Flights with Norwegian Air Shuttle
You can book all of your flights online from your home, office or smartphone. The Norwegian Travel Assistant is an app you can download on your smartphone and all the information about your flight is all sorted out for you and youíll even have access to your ticket. Simply show your SMS ticket at the security check point and the gate prior to boarding. You can even change your flight if you have purchased a flexible ticket. On some flights you have the option of purchasing a seat reservation that allows you to select your preferred seat for a fee. If not, your seat will be allocated at the airport.
