In 2007, the airline gained the highest ever profits in its history, and received recognition for the best turnaround. Malaysia Airlines currently has over 20 subsidiaries of which 13 of them are fully owned by them. Most recently, Malaysia Airlines joined the Oneworld Alliance in 2013.
The airline has also been a key player in the Kangaroo Route, where the airline provides onward connections from main European gateways to Australian and New Zealand gateways via Kuala Lumpur International Airport, all within 5 hours.

On Board Malaysia Airlines
All of the aircraft have an Economy and a Business Class section. Although, First Class is only available on Airbus A380 aircraft. Babies are banned from first class and have been widely criticized for this. Their reason for this decision is that they received far too many complaints from passengers that paid a high price for their tickets and couldn’t get a full nights rest from crying babies. In addition to this the airline banned children under the age of 12 from the upper deck as the upper deck was for business travelers.
First Class has the widest seats in the sky on the A380 aircraft. There are only 8 semi-enclosed suites with a 23 inch flat screen television and only on flights to Hong Kong, London Heathrow and Paris Charles de Gaulle.
Economy Class is available on all of the flights of Malaysia Airlines. The seats are approximately 17- 17.25 inches wide and a 6.5 inch personal TV that is behind every seat. Some of the older planes have a foot rest that is below the seat in front.
