KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is part of the KLM-Air France group, it is based in Amsterdam’s Schipol Airport. KLM was the national airline of the Netherlands prior to joining the KLM-Air France group and it is also the oldest carrier in the world. KLM is a member of the Skyteam alliance of airlines, with other partner members including Korean Air and Alitalia, enabling it to offer flights to a vast network of destinations across Europe and beyond.

On Board KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
KLM offers 3 simple travel classes to choose from on both their international and long-haul flights; Business class, Comfort Economy, and Economy class. The Business Class is also known to KLM flyers as the World Business Class.
The Economy Comfort is a premium economy seating arrangement that is available on all of the intercontinental and short haul flights. They are also located in front of the regular Economy class in a separate cabin.
The Economy seating is standard, with 17 -17.5 inch wide seats and each seat is equipped with a 9-inch private TV and Audio/Video on Demand.
In-flight entertainment on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is provided on all of their aircraft including Audio/Video on Demand. There are movies, games and TV programs. Several movies are available in different languages to choose from. KLM and Air France has recently been implementing and testing Wi-Fi on their aircraft so passengers can get connected using their laptops, smartphones or tablets after reaching an altitude of 20,000 feet.
The number of meals served on flights would depend on its duration, although hot meals are served on long-haul flights and a snack along with refreshments. Of course short duration flights provide a snack and a drink. Advanced notice is required if you have any special meal requests or restrictions.
KLM Air Travel Classes – Cheap Flights
On its international routes, KLM operates World Business and Economy class cabins. Within Europe, KLM Europe Select offers a premium service with benefits including priority boarding and additional Flying Blue miles.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Business Class Flights
The Boeing 777 is currently the only aircraft that operates using the older Business Class seats. The older version of this travel class consists of a 20 inch wide seat with a 60 inch pitch that converts to a 170 degree angle bed. Each of these seats has a 10.4 inch personal TV.
The newer Business Class seats have been tremendously upgraded with a fully 180 degree angle bed that measures out to 6 feet 6 inches when laid flat. Each of these seats also come equipped with a TV as with the older class, however, the newer TV’s are 17 inches and offer high definition features.
Aside from the World Business Class, KLM also offers a Europe Business Class which is intended for shorter haul flights. The seats in this class include that of the above, however there is no personal entertainment. The seating configuration in the Europe Business Class varies between a 3-3, 3-2, and 2-2. The seats also provide for more leg room and more reclining capability than the Economy seats.
Personal entertainment systems are available for all passengers, along with a complimentary meal and beverage service. The free baggage allowance for checked in baggage is 20kg. On board its European routes, sandwiches are available to passengers.

KLM Crown Lounges are located at airports in Amsterdam, London, Dubai, Toronto and Houston.
Passengers that have access to the KLM Crown Lounge are those who are traveling in the business classes or a frequent flyer as a Gold or Platinum Member. Whether you are looking to simply relax or need use of the business facilities, the Crown Lounges provide it all, from snack, drinks, and entertainment, to the use of free Wi-Fi, fax, or photocopiers.
SkyTeam Elite Plus members also have access to the KLM Crown Lounge, and those that have access to KLM Crown Lounges can also access the lounges of KLM’s partners.
