Why Fly On Egyptair
Known as one of the world’s pioneer airlines, Egyptair was founded in 1932 and is the national airline of Egypt. They offer both passenger and cargo services and their main hub is at Cairo International Airport. Egyptair is 100 percent owned by the Egyptian Government and within this structure, Egyptair Holding Company was created to act as if privately owned without any financial government backing. Additionally, the holding company operates and owns seven subsidiary companies. The airline joined the Star Alliance airline network in 2008 in order to offer more flight connections and more comfortable travel to its customers. In fact, Egyptair is the only airline that is based in North Africa and the Middle East that is part of the alliance network. Currently the airline has a total fleet size of 61 passenger aircraft, and three cargo jets. They also operate 12 Embraer E-170 aircraft for its subsidiary Egyptair Express. Most of their passenger aircraft include the Boeing 737-800 and they currently only have three other aircraft on order.
Egyptair flies to more than 75 international and domestic cities. They fly to several Asian destinations, along with a strong network throughout the Middle East, Africa, and Europe including two in the Americas. In addition to their Star Alliance membership, Egyptair has code share agreements with 20 other airlines to extend even more destination options and values to their customers.
