Why Fly with China Airlines
Not to be confused with Air China, China Airlines is Taiwan's largest airline. It was established in Taipei in 1959 and is owned through various channels indirectly by the Taiwanese government. Most of their flights are operated out of their main hub at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport located near Taipei, Taiwan. In 2011 China Airlines became the first Taiwanese airline to join the SkyTeam network airline alliance. In addition, their wholly owned subsidiary airlines, Mandarin Airlines and Tigerair Taiwan operate most of the domestic flights. They also have interests in other related industries. Historically, the airline has won many awards of excellence. In fact most recently in 2013, Global Traveler named China Airlines the “Best Airline in North Asia”. China Airlines total fleet size consists of 76 aircraft, most of which include the Airbus A330-200 and include 21 of the Boeing 747-400F cargo fleet. The airline has placed orders for 38 additional aircraft to include the Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350-900.
China Airlines Flights
Although their focus cities are throughout Asia and primarily China, Bangkok, and Osaka, the airline has begun to reach destinations as far as New Zealand. The airline flies to over 110 destinations in 29 countries and regions throughout Europe, Asia, America, Oceania and Taiwan. In addition to their SkyTeam membership, the airline also has codeshare agreements with 15 other airlines.
On Board China Airlines
Three classes of seating and service are offered on board and they include Economy Class, First Class and Business Class depending on the type of aircraft and duration. The in-flight entertainment offered on board all aircraft is called Fantasy Sky and is an AVOD system offering over 100 movies, TV shows, audio and video games. Meals, snacks and various beverages are served on most flights to include a variety of seasonal dishes and Western and Eastern menus.
The newer luxurious seats in First Class are available on flights from Taipei to Los Angeles and San Francisco. They are wide and single seats along the windows giving maximum privacy and have a pitch of 83 inches between seats and adjust to a full 180 degree flatbed position. For a relaxing sleep, a large pillow and duvet are provided. A power source and USB is provided at the seat for laptops and other devices including an individual 15 inch flat screen monitor to enjoy the in-flight entertainment.
Economy Class seating is standard with a pitch of 31-32 inches between seats and your own 9 inch seat back TV monitor. Seats are ergonomically designed with multiple headrest positions for maximum head and neck support.
Business Class with China Airlines
The new Business Class cabins are ultra-modern with a peaceful atmosphere. Seats allow for plenty of legroom with a pitch of 60 inches between them and include an adjustable armrest, reading light and plenty of storage for personal items. Enjoy plenty of rest as the seats recline to an almost flat position. There is also a convenient divider to offer more privacy. Every seat is also equipped with a power source and USB port. A 15 inch TV monitor is available at every seat for your in-flight entertainment.
