Air Tahiti Nui - Airline Information

Air Tahiti Nui is Tahiti’s international airline, commencing flights in 1998 and is the leading carrier to French Polynesia. Its main base is Faa'a International Airport, and it has its headquarters in Papeete. The airline operates a fleet of Airbus A340-300 aircraft on its non-stop flights from Sydney to Tahiti. Flights are then available directly on to New York. Air Tahiti Nui also offers flights to other destinations worldwide, including Paris, Los Angeles and Tokyo.

The airline has been voted Best Airline Pacific and Best Cabin Crew Australia/Pacific at the Skytrax Awards every year between 2003 and 2007. All crew members are fluent in English, Tahitian and French, with Japanese speakers available on the Tokyo flights.

Passengers should reconfirm their flights with the airline at least 48 hours prior to departure. Groups of 10 or more travelling from Australia can obtain a quote for flight prices online or by telephoning the airline.

Poerava First Class

Poerava First is the First Class section of Air Tahiti Nui’s aircraft cabin, accommodating six passengers in luxury. Fully reclining seats are available with 12 inch television screens and personal telephones. Gourmet meals are available, matched with wines of famous vintages. Priority check in is offered, along with lounge access where available.

Club Poerava

Business Class, or Club Poerava, caters for 24 passengers on each aircraft, with seats arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration. Seats have personal video screens, adjustable headrests and a recline which varies between 127 and 150 degrees dependent on the aircraft. Business Class passengers receive priority checking in and may use lounge facilities where they are available.

Moana Class

Moana Class offers passengers restaurant quality meals, reflecting the cuisine of the destinations mixed with French and Polynesian influences. Personal seat back video screens are now available on most aircraft, with a choice of movies and video games.

Air Tahiti Nui Frequent Flyer

The airline operates a frequent flyer program called Club Tiare, which was founded in 1998. Miles can be earned through flights with the airline which can then be redeemed for free flights, upgrades or additional baggage allowances. Club Tiare Tahia is available for individual membership. Club Tiare Fetii is a family membership card which allows all members of one family to accumulate points on one card. There is a small charge to become a member of Club Tiare Fetii.

American Airlines AAdvantage members and Northwest Airlines Worldperks members may redeem points from those schemes on Air Tahiti Nui.
