Warsaw is the large capital city of Poland and it sits alongside the River Vistula. Having been razed by the Nazis during the Second World War, the vast majority of architecture is from the post-war period. Some old buildings have been restored, however, providing a glimpse into what the city looked like in the past.
The bulk of the city sights are in the Centrum area. Outlying places of interest include Kabaty Forest and Wilanow Palace.
