Italy's Venice is famous for its waterways, gondolas, and delightful charm. It is ranked amongst the top loveliest places in the world. The city is comprised of many islands on a lagoon.
Marco Polo Airport is the nearest airport to Venice. Treviso Airport is also becoming more commonly used. To actually arrive in Venice you will need to travel the last part by water and then by foot. There are numerous water buses and water taxis. Ships arrive at Stazione Marittima. Trains run to Venezia Santa Lucia Train Station from a variety of Italian and European cities. Buses and cars can take you as far as Piazzale Roma. Getting around is easy – by foot! As the only pedestrian city in the world, walking is the only way to get from A to B on land.
