Belize Holidays,  Belize Holiday Packages Overview

Belize is synonymous with Mayan sites. Some of the most impressive Mayan ruins in the world can be found in Belize today. However, Belize is much more than Mayan sites. It also offers a wealth of other attractions like exotic animals and plants, lush jungles, beautiful reefs, deep sea fishing and many diving spots. The friendly locals are proud of their hospitality.

Till date, only a small fraction of the thousands of ruins have been discovered and excavated by archaeologists in Belize. For centuries, the jungles have swallowed up large Mayan cities and splendid temples. From the Actun Tunichil Muknal caves to the Lamanai temples, Mayan evidence can be found just about anywhere in the country.

Belize is a country with incredible beauty. It has emerald green forests and beautiful seas, an incredibly long Barrier Reef and hundreds of kinds of trees, flowers, butterflies and birds. The rain forests are dotted with cohune palms and ceiba trees while wild animals still roam free. Belize offers good jungle lodges where visitors can truly experience the lush jungles and wildlife that this country has to offer.

The Barrier Reef in Belize is the longest in the northern or western hemisphere. Diving and snorkelling is an excellent way to observe it closely. It is home to 65 types of coral, over 300 fish species along with manatees, sea turtles and plenty of other sea creatures.

Perhaps one of the best ways to truly experience Belize is by joining the many local celebrations and festivals like Lobsterfest, Cashew Festival and the Cacao Fest.
