Taipei Flights Guide

Taipei, TaiwanTaipei is the bustling capital of Taiwan. It is known for being a modern, safe, and friendly city, with a semi-tropical climate. It offers a vibrant atmosphere and many things to do and see.

Taiwan Toayuan International Airport serves the city. Flights operate to and from a number of international and local destinations. Most domestic flights, however, are served by Songshan Airport. Trains and buses also connect Taipei to the rest of Taiwan.

The city has a good metro system and bus network, and taxis are available in abundance. Many people use bicycles to move around the city with ease.

A major city sight, and one that is incredibly hard to miss, is the enormous Taipei 101 skyscraper. At 508 metres tall, it is one of the world's highest buildings. It houses a range of activities, including a viewing platform.

The National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is an important symbol in the city. Every morning the national flag is raised in the courtyard, and there is a large statue of Chaing Kai-shek flanked by two guards of honour. Every hour there is a changing of the guard ceremony, and the grounds feature delightful Chinese gardens and a museum.

Other places of interest include the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, the National Theater Hall, Longshan Temple, Zhongshan Hall, and various museums and art galleries.

Children and adults alike will enjoy the open Taipei Zoo, where animals roam freely in large fields and paddocks. Taipei Water Park offers swimming and slides, and the Children's Recreation Centre is perfect for younger members of the family.

Taipei boasts a rich and incredibly diverse culinary scene, as well as a great number of bars, coffee shops, tea shops, cafes, and food markets.
