The town of Sibu is located in Malaysia's Sarawak. Sarawak lies on the large island of Borneo, and so Sibu offers a completely different atmosphere and culture to that on the peninsular mainland. It has a majority Chinese population.
Sibu Airport connects the town to various places within Malaysian Borneo, as well as Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru on the mainland. The town can be reached by boat from Kuching and Kapit.
