Australia's Rockhampton is situated between Mackay and Bundaberg within the state of Queensland. It is near to the coast, and is one of the oldest cities in Queensland. It is usually referred to as Rocky.

Natural attractions include Mount Etna Caves National Park and the Capricorn Caves.
If visiting the coast, visitors should be aware of the presence of salt water crocodiles; they can be incredibly dangerous.

It is possible to get to Brisbane, Cairns, Emerald, and Longreach by train. There are buses to Brisbane and Cairns. There are good paved roads into the city. Cars, taxis, and bicycles are the main local forms of transport, with walking also being a viable option between most of the main attractions.
