Regina Flights Guide

Regina, CanadaRegina, the capital of Saskatchewan, is an island of civilization in the vast expanse of Canada's flat, empty prairies. The city maintains its agriculturally-tied traditions, but also manages to be one of the most surprisingly alive places that you'll find in Canada, with fascinating attractions, parks, and excellent cuisine.

Stroll through the popular Warehouse district, where a number of old warehouses have been converted into trendy restaurants, bars and pubs. The downtown area offers over seventy different eateries, offering a nice mix of familiar chains and family-owned establishments. You'll find that most of Regina's restaurants are very budget-friendly, with most entrees priced at less than $8.00. The Casino Regina is another hub of nightlife activity, with almost 40 gaming tables, as well as restaurants, and gaudy Vegas-style live shows. This striking casino is seven blocks long and incorporates the city's original rail station. Take in a show at the Conexus Arts Centre, home to the Regina Symphony Orchestra, which features performances throughout the year. The Globe Theatre is another interesting artistic venue. Built as Regina's original city hall, the theatre now hosts productions ranging from classics and musicals, to modern dramas and comedies.

Cool off at Regina's famous ice cream shop, Milky Way, which offers delicious flavours of ice cream and homemade ice cream cakes. The Cathedral district is a small, walkable area that's filled with cafes, galleries and book shops. It's a nice place for an afternoon stroll and some window-shopping. Wascana Centre Park is another pleasant place to spend an afternoon, with a paved path around pretty Wascana Lake, which is popular with walkers, runners and cyclists. The park also offers a children's play area, and plenty of space for tossing a frisbee or flying a kite. Wander through the nicely-displayed Government House, former home to the lieutenant-governors of Canada's Northwest Territories. Don't miss the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, a 100-year-old institution that features natural history and life science exhibits, as well as some interesting insights into aboriginal history. Another popular attraction is the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Heritage Centre, which features exhibits highlighting the history of this iconic organization.
