Busan, also sometimes referred to as Pusan, is a coastal city in South Korea. It is famous for its wonderful beaches, natural areas, hot springs, and laid back atmosphere.
Gimhae Airport serves a variety of domestic and international destinations. Busan is also well connected by road and rail. The local public transport in Busan is incredibly reliable, efficient, and expansive. It includes a subway system, a light railway, and buses. There are also taxis in the city. Walking is not really feasible due to the distant locations of many of the places of interest.
Some of the best beaches around Busan include Haeundae Beach, Songjeong Beach, and Gwangalli Beach.
The large Beomeosa Temple is one of Korea's greatest temples. Sitting in the mountains, it also affords terrific views. Another popular temple is Yonggungsa Temple. You may also like to visit Seokbulsa Temple. Other places of interest include Dalmaji Hill, and the numerous small galleries, the restored area known as the 40 Steps, the forested MoonTan Road, the Busan Museum, and the Busan Modern History Museum. You can also visit the UN Memorial Cemetery and the Busan Art Museum.
In Taejongdae Park you can admire the charming lighthouse and take a boat ride to see the notorious Suicide Rock. In Yongdusan Park you can see the large and looming Busan Tower. A viewing platform at the top of the tower provides excellent panoramic views of the city.
Children will enjoy Busan Aquarium.
The lively Jagalchi Fish Market is an interesting visit. Unsurprisingly, seafood is popular fare in the city.
