Museo Nazionale del Cinema
The distinctive domed spire of this building, known as the Mole Antonelliana was commissioned by the city’s Jewish community in the late nineteenth century to commemorate liberalized discrimination laws. It found its vocation in 2000 as Italy’s national cinema museum, with an inventive interior of giant screens and red upholstered recliners with built in speakers, a lift that shoots through the centre of the dome to the needle at the top, and a range of rare and extravagant exhibits.

Palazzo Reale
The forbidding exterior on Piazzetta Reale disguises the lively baroque interior of stucco, frescoes, gilding, and tapestries. Built in the seventeenth century on the site of the Bishop’s palace, the Palazzo Reale was originally a Savoy residence. Tours of the palace take half an hour, and are usually only available in Italian, but the exhibits in each room are clearly marked in English. Don’t miss the kitchens which only opened to the public in 2008, and the newly refurbished first floor.
