Port Macquarie Attractions - Things to do
Port Macquarie Surf School. Learn how to surf on safe beaches and under blue skies. Surfing lessons run for 90 minutes and can be done in groups, or one on one. The surf school caters for people of all ages and surfing skills. Group lessons are available at 9am, 11 am and 2 pm daily. One on one lessons are by request. Learner surfers are provided with sunscreen, wet suit, a rash vest, and a soft surfboard.

Billabong Koala. Pat a koala, feed a monkey or kangaroo, or get up and close to a reptile at Billabong koala. Billabong is an award winning regional wildlife park that is home to wallabies, wombats, crocodiles, snakes, birds, quolls, cassowaries, and of course, monkeys, koalas, and kangaroos. The times to pat a koala are 10.30 am, 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm. Billabong also has a very successful koala breeding programme. A great day out for all the family. Be sure to pack the camera. Lake Innes House Ruins and Environs
Innes Lake Ruins is a 10 minute drive from town on the Ruins Way. This property was originally 1036 hectares (2560 acres) and was built using convict labour between 1831 and 1843. This property was an ambitious project with an enormous house. Unfortunately the removal of the convict labour, along with a depression, ruined the owner Major Innes. Since then the house has deteriorated, but is classified under the National Trust. Archaeological studies have also been performed at the property. Guided tours are run of the property by the National Parks and Wildlife Service on the first Saturday of each month between 2 pm and 4.30 pm.
