The Albert Kersten Mining and Minerals Museum is located in the old Bond Store building which was building in 1893. The museum is home to a large mineral collection, a 42kg silver nugget and the ‘Silver Tree’. Delve into the magic of metallurgy and explore the history of the planet and science of crystals in the interactive centres displays and in the Time Line Room. The ‘Silver Tree’ was crafted by Adelaide silversmith Henry Steiner in 1879-1880 for the Royal Melbourne Colonial Exhibition and eventually found its home here at the museum.

The Living Desert Flora and Fauna Sanctuary is located only 9 kilometres from the centre of town. Open daily, you can take a tour or explore on your own self guided adventure. Venture out on the Cultural Walk Train within the Sanctuary and discover the Aboriginal Heritage in the Living Desert Reserve. The beautiful wild flowers, prospectors mine site, quartz outcrop and ranging Wallabies and Red Kangaroos will amaze. A love of nature will find you putting the Living Desert Flora and Fauna Sanctuary on your list of must see places.

The Sculpture Symposium has been called stunning and is located within the Living Desert Flora and Fauna Sanctuary. Located on a hilltop within the centre of the Reserve, you will be drawn to take a look. A collection of artists around the world contributed to the creation of the Symposium and it was finally completed in 1993. The Symposium consists of 12 Sandstone Sculptures that are highlighted against the skyline. Venture out to the reserve and see the story that each sculpture has to tell.
