The castle was completed in 1870, although there had been previous versions on the site since the twelfth century. A visitors’ centre on the second floor of the castle gives as insight into the area as well as the castle itself, and admission is free. The picturesque grounds of the castle offer superb views over Belfast, and there is an adventure playground for younger visitors to enjoy. http://www.belfastcastle.co.uk/
