Jeddah Flights Guide

Jeddah, Saudi ArabiaJeddah is the second biggest city in Saudi Arabia, but the most popular for tourism and sightseeing. It is a major gateway for pilgrims en route to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

Jeddah is an incredibly big city along the coast of the Red Sea. It mixes modern and historical areas, and provides numerous interesting attractions for everyone to enjoy.

Taxis and water taxis are available for transport in the city. Public transport is not so widely used.

The main place to vist in Jeddah is the Old Town. The old gates mark where the walls once stood, and the area is home to narrow streets, busy souqs, coral dwellings, ancient buildings, and more. It is a terrific place to simply wander, look, admire, and soak up the totally unique atmosphere. At the centre of the Old City you can visit Souq al-Alawi, where you may like to stock up in souvenirs and mementos.

Take a stroll along the Jeddah Corniche for great views across the Red Sea. Sunbathe on beautiful sandy beaches. Swim in the clear ocean waters. Scuba dive to incredible coral reefs and the Chicken Wreck.

There are various shopping malls, and the city has almost every type of cuisine on offer. Night life revolves around coffeeshops and shisha cafes. Alcohol is banned in the Kingdom.

King Abdulaziz International Airport is the country's biggest airport, and it serves a large number of global destinations. Boats from Sudan and Egypt arrive in Jeddah. Buses connect Jeddah to the rest of the country, as well as to countries that share a border with Saudi Arabia.
