Moree Holidays Overview
Moree is to be found in north west NSW, 640 km from Sydney, and 480 km from Brisbane. Moree is sometimes referred to as the "Spa Capital" due to its famous Artesian baths. The shire of Moree is the most productive agricultural shire in all of Australia, with beef cattle, cotton, olives, cereals, pecan nuts, wool, wheat and olives all being produced here.
Prior to the discovery of this area by Europeans in 1832, the plains surrounding Moree were home to the Kamilaroi people. By the 1850's a store and post office had been opened by European settlers.
There are many attractions for the tourist in Moree, including a beautiful golf course on the Mehi River, national parks, and museums.

Mungindi Music Festival
Mungindi is 120 km north west of Moree, up on the NSW Queensland border, and is fast becoming famous for its music festival held in October. Along with the Outreach programme from the Sydney Conservatorium the locals decided to stage concerts in shearing sheds and wheat paddocks, attracting hundreds of visitors and musicians. This music festival offers many workshops for both adults and children, allowing them to learn from top Australian musicians.

Moree Multicultural Festival is held in September each year and runs for 3 days. This festival features dinner, performances, dances, carnivals, and music, all celebrating a rich multicultural society. Performers, both groups and individuals, come from all over Australia. Food fairs, cultural carnivals, cultural dances, along with a circus and international music and singing are all part of the festival.

Healing Waters Festival is designed to bring all communities within Moree together to celebrate. Community groups representing all of Moree residents will be presenting new and existing events in a collaboration to celebrate the therapeutic Artesian waters of Moree in September annually.
