Karratha Holidays Overview
Dampier is on the Coral Coast of Western Australia and is 1,558 kilometres from Perth. King Bay is on the town’s doorstep and opens up to the Dampier Archipelago containing 42 islands, outcrops and islets. The coral reef and shipwrecks are a popular destination for fishermen and divers.

The Lions FeNaCING Festival is held on the first weekend of August and has been running for 37 years. This is a festival similar to an Agriculture Show without the agriculture. The letters ‘FeNaCING’ are chemical symbols of the three main production and exports in Karratha and Dampier. The symbols Fe for Iron Ore, NaCI for Salt and NG for Natural Gas form the nucleus of the festival. Browse the displays of handiwork and crafts, partake from the food stalls and enjoy the live entertainment. Participate in games like Tug-o-War, the Home Brew Contest and Iron Man competition. A wonderful weekend for the whole family with sideshows, rides and many activities for children.
The North West Expo is an event that unites all people of the North West from Darwin to Karratha. Held in May, the event showcases local businesses, industry, arts, tourism, recreation,, social and cultural opportunities of the region.
