Kalbarri Holidays Overview
Kalbarri is located 591 kilometres north of Pert in Western Australia. A ‘Holiday Mecca’, Kalbarri is a place to relax and enjoy some of the most breath taking scenery in Australia. There is so much to do in the region from swimming, to going fishing, whale watching and surfing. This is one holiday destination that you can spend 2 weeks exploring and still not see everything. The history of this region extends back to 1629 when the Dutch East India trading ship ‘Batavia’, was wrecked offshore. Two mutinous crew members were put ashore at Wittecarra Creek near Bluff Point to the south of Kalbarri and they are believed to be the first European settlers to this country. The name ‘Kalbarri’ is thought to originate from an aboriginal word meaning ‘edible seed’. Venture out of Kalbarri and see the nearby gorges and coastal cliffs. Over 200,000 people visit Kalbarri each year and it really earns the title of ‘holiday Mecca’. http://www.kalbarriwa.info Hotel Accommodation in Kalbarri can be arranges at: http://www.hotelsaccommodation.com.au/Kalbarri-Western_Australia/
