Goteborg (Gothenburg) Holidays Overview
Gothenburg, Sweden’s second city is often called ‘The Face of Sweden’, because of its location looking out towards the rest of Europe. It is smaller and more compact than Stockholm, but has much to offer in the way of museums, culture and heritage. Gothenburg is a fashionable city and you will find the main streets lined with department stores and designer outlets. It is also famous for its seafood, with superb restaurants serving freshly caught fish and a renowned fish market at Rosenlundsgatan. Gothenburg is the home of the Scandinavian car manufacturing giant Volvo, which has a reputation for designing long lasting and safe cars. The Volvo museum in Gothenburg explores the development of the cars from their beginnings in 1927 to the present day.
