Esperance Holidays Overview
Esperance is on the southeast coast of Western Australia is located 725 kilometres from Perth. A Mediterranean like climate all year round makes Esperance a popular tourist destination. With four National Parks in the region, Esperance has both natural and manmade attractions.
In 1792, a French navigator, Rear Admiral D’Entrecasteaux sheltered in the bay from a storm. It was not until 1864 that settlement occurred in the region. The pioneering Dempster brothers drove sheep, cattle and horses from Northam and established the Esperance Bay Pastoral Station.
Known as the ‘Bay of Isles’, Esperance has wide sandy beaches, scenic coastlines and a vista of offshore islands to choose from. There is a dense saltwater lake called ‘Pink Lake’, believe it or not, it really is pink.
