London Heathrow Flights Guide

London Heathrow, United KingdomLondon Heathrow is the UK's busiest airport. Additionally, in terms of passenger numbers, it is the third busiest airport in the whole world. It is located in the London Borough of Hillingdon and lies 22 kilometres outside of the city of London. The large airport has 4 terminal buildings. At present, terminal 2 is not in operation, as the site is being redeveloped; there are plans to close terminal 1 after the new terminal 2 is completed and opened. Terminal 5 is the newest terminal, and it is a very modern part of the airport.

In every terminal building there is a wide selection of shops, restaurants, cafes, seating areas, and other facilities. Many airlines have VIP rooms. Within the airport there is a multi-faith prayer room. Here you will find religious leaders from a variety of different faiths. These include Anglican, Catholic, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh.

Numerous airlines operate flights in and out of London Heathrow Airport, and passengers are transported between over 170 destinations across the world. There are also domestic flights to other parts of the UK. London Heathrow is the main hub for the national carrier, British Airways. There is also a base for Virgin Atlantic.

Coach services link to the airport, and the airport can be reached by a combination of road and rail. It is easy to enter the capital city of London from Heathrow Airport.
