Halifax Flights Guide

Halifax, CanadaCanada's Halifax is the capital city of Novia Scotia. It is a thriving seaport with a long legacy of maritime activity and history. It enjoys a chilled out atmosphere, and the local inhabitants are friendly and welcoming.

Halifax is served by Halifax Robert L. Stansfield International Airport. Flights operate to and from destinations in Canada and the United States, as well as to the UK's London. Trains run three times per week to Moncton, Quebec City, and Montreal. Buses link Halifax to nearby areas. Public transport is good, though is largely limited to the downtown area. A hire car is the best means of transport for those wishing to travel further afield.

The Halifax Citadel, also known as Fort George, is a main site in the city. Visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the harbour and visit the interesting museum. The historic graveyard is worth a quick stop. Halifax is home to both Canada's oldest United Church and the oldest Anglican Church; these are St Matthew's Church and St Paul's Church respectively. The Georgian Province House is where the first provincial legislative body was based.

You can stroll along the boardwalk at the harbour, where you will find a wide selection of shops, restaurants, cafes, and historic buildings. Various ships line the water's edge, and boat trips are possible. You can take a trip to go whale watching and fishing, or enjoy a terrific dinner cruise.

Some museums and art galleries to visit include the National Immigration Museum, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, and the Art Gallery of Novia Scotia.

Go on a tour of Alexander Keith's Brewery, and sample some of the locally produced ale.

There are accommodation options to suit all budgets, and a choice of places to eat, drink, and enjoy the local night life.
