Gaya Flights Guide

Gaya, IndiaIndia's Gaya is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists. It is a city filled with rituals and rites. A famous celebration is Pind daan, whereby people visit the area make offerings on behalf of dead ancestors. It is a spiritual and peaceful city, surrounded by beautiful temple topped hills.

Bodhgaya Airport connects the city to various domestic and international destinations. Gaya also enjoys good road and rail links. There are local buses in Gaya, as well as taxis and auto rickshaws.

A major sight in the city is the sacred and revered Vishnupad Temple. It was constructed in the 18th century and has a foot print of Lord Vishnu, one of the Hindu deities. Another important religion place is Mangla Gauri Asthan.

Climb the hills of Pretshila or Brahmayoni for great sweeping views.

A little way out of the city you will find the important Buddhist temple of Bodhgaya. This is said to be the place where the Lord Buddha attained the Power of Knowledge.

Other attractions within easy reach of Gaya include the Barabar Caves, Kakolat Falls, and Bramhjauni Hill.
