Explore the labyrinth of alleyways in Stone Town and wander past Arabic-style houses, resplendent with large, studded wooden doors. Lose yourself in the hustle and bustle of the markets before turning down narrow lanes, accompanied by the wailing sirens calling the faithful to prayer. At night, choose from a smorgasbord of seafood at the small, colourful vendor stalls at the Night Market. From the charm of Stone Town you are transported to the east coast for some serious relaxation. Here, life continues without haste as it has done so for centuries. Watch local villagers tend to their fishing nets and dhows (sailing boats). Stroll along great expanses of white, palm-lined beaches or swim in the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. This coast provides relaxed and tranquil place to spend our days.
