2012 - Your Journey starts Tokyo, ends Kyoto
DAYS 1-3 - TOKYO & HAKONE
Be met at the airport on your arrival in Tokyo. A carefully crafted walking tour immerses you in the tantalizing streets of Tokyo, including dazzling Harajuku and the massive Tsukiji Fish Market. Take a stunning river cruise to Asakusa. Travel by train to Hakone, a picturesque town famous for its hot springs and natural beauty. From your base at a Japanese-style inn, cruise on Lake Ashi-no for a chance to spot majestic Mount Fuji.

DAYS 4-5 - TAKAYAMA
A thrilling ride on the Shinkansen (bullet train) brings you to Nagoya and then on to Takayama. Set in the remote mountains of the Hida Region, Takayama is renowned for its skillful artisans and sake breweries. Explore the Old Town on foot, stopping at some of the traditional old houses and delightful local museums and wander a vibrant morning market.

DAYS 6-10 - KYOTO & HIROSHIMA
Relish some free time to explore Takayama before taking the Shinkansen to Kyoto, filled with shrines and temples, countless teahouses and a thriving geisha culture. Explore the historic Gion region and take part in a traditional tea ceremony, then amble amongst the city’s lovely gardens. Be enlightened at the Buddhist Kiyomizudera Temple and gaze upon the gorgeous Golden Pavilion. Nara, nearby, boasts historic World Heritage listed temples and a tranquil Deer Park. Take a day trip to reinvented Hiroshima to visit the informative Bomb Museum, Peace Memorial and Miyajima Island. Enjoy free time on your last day before a train transfer to the airport.
