Copenhagen Flights Guide

Copenhagen, DenmarkCopenhagen, the capital city of Denmark, is both large enough to have a great night life, oodles of culture, great shopping, and a varied dining scene, and yet small enough to be easy to get around and have a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The best months to visit are between May and August.

An iconic Copenhagen sight is the Little Mermaid, who gazes wistfully out over the water at Langelinie Promenade. The City Hall, the Opera House, and the Marble Church showcase some of the city's finest architecture. The Paustian complex reveals more modern constructions. The Royal Palace is well with a visit. The Old Town is crammed with delightful gems, and is also home to Stoget, an expansive pedestrianised street with excellent shopping opportunities.

Copenhagen Zoo is great for all ages. Other family friendly places include the Experimentarium, the planetarium, and the Geological Museum. For some theme park fun, head to Tivoli or Bakken.

Copenhagen has many art attractions, with one of the better known being the Danish National Gallery. Ny Carlsberg Glypotek has lovely grounds and an impressive collection of works. Other art galleries include The Hirschsprung Collection, the Arken Museum of Modern Art, the Storm P Museum, Oddrupgaard, and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.

Climb to the top of the Round Tower or the Church of Our Saviour for incredible views.

In the summer months swimming is possible at Copencabana and Havnebadet. Both are in the harbor area.

Kastrup Airport is a major gateway into the city. Visitors can also fly to Sturup Airport in Sweden and be in Copenhagen in around 45 minutes. Copenhagen is also served by several ferry services from Oslo in Norway. Intercity rail services are excellent, and services are also available to several other European cities. Buses also link domestic and European destinations.

Public transport systems in the city are good, but for the best experience do as the locals do and ride a bike. A canal tour is an ideal way to see another side to the city.
