Buenos Aires Flights Guide

Buenos Aires, ArgentinaBuenos Aires is the large and lively capital of Argentina. It is one of the biggest cities across South America and has many things for visitors to do and see. It is a cultural and historical city with a youthful atmosphere. Buenos Aires has very relaxed attitudes towards the LGBT community.

Most travellers can enter Argentina for up to 90 days with no visa requirements. People from Australia, the USA, and Canada, however, must register before entering Argentina and also pay a fee.

Buenos Aires' main international airport is Ezeiza International Airport, which is located around 35 kilometres from the heart of the city. It serves global and domestic destinations, and it is easy to get to and from the rest of South America, North America, Europe, and Australasia. The bulk of the domestic flights, as well as those to neighbouring nations, fly to and from Aeropargue Jorge Newbery.

Long distance bus services link Buenos Aires to the rest of the country. Most operate from Retiro Bus Station. There are not many rail services. Boats connect the city to Uruguay's Montevideo and Colonia. With good road links you can also drive to Buenos Aires, although the roads are likely to be very busy!

Buenos Aires has good public transport links, making it easy to get around.

The city is split into various districts. Some of the most visited include the downtown Microcentro, which is near to the major historical sites and home to fantastic shopping, San Telmo with its delightful colonial architecture, and Boedo for cafes, theatres, pubs, restaurants, and Tango galore. Vibrant and colourful La Boca is also popular, as are elegant Recoleta and the old port of Puerto Madero. Tribunales is perfect for great shows and performances and is home to the magnificent and renowned Colon Theatre. Others include peaceful and green Belgrano and Congresso with several government buildings.
